How It All Began (2009)

Long before CritterSail had a name, there was a simple idea — and a sketchpad.

In 2020, I began sketching and digitally drawing pets and families, turning cherished photos into meaningful artwork. That project became FamPaws (Family With Paws), created around one core belief:

Animals aren’t separate from family - they are family.

FamPaws was about more than portraits. It stood for animal rescue, protection, and adoption, woven into the strongest social unit we have: the family.

As the mission grew, so did the reach.

I began collaborating with Filipino artists and other talented creators around the world, giving them real opportunities to earn from their craft not exposure, not empty promises, but honest work with dignity. Together, we used art to spread compassion for pets, wildlife, and vulnerable animals.

It was purpose-driven.
It was human.
It was working.

When Everything Stopped

Then the world changed. The pandemic didn’t just pause businesses it reshaped lives. Like many creators and small founders, I faced uncertainty, personal hardship, and moments where survival took priority over vision. The project I poured my heart into slowly went silent. The sketches stopped. The collaborations faded. The mission for a time had to be set down. Letting go wasn’t a choice. It was reality.

The Reason It Began Again

What brought everything back wasn’t strategy.
It wasn’t trends.

It was my two-year-old daughter.

Watching her discover the world pointing at animals, reacting to the ocean, feeling wonder without explanation reminded me of something essential:

The future is watching what we choose to protect.

That moment realigned everything.

CritterSail returned clearer, deeper, and more urgent.

But this time, it evolved.
